MISSION OPPORTUNITY IN CHIAPAS

JULY 12 (SATURDAY) TO JULY 20  (SUNDAY) 2014

JULY 12 (SATURDAY) TO JULY 20 (SUNDAY) 2014
HEBRON USA and HEBRÓN DE DESARROLLO TZELTAL
“SHARING THE LOVE OF JESUS CHRIST IN SOUTHERN MÉXICO”

Dear Friends of Chiapas:

The mission team from First Presbyterian Church in Waukegan, Illinois that is scheduled to work in Chiapas this summer now has openings for additional mission travelers to work with it. Due to unforeseen issues, several of the original members of this team will not be able to fulfill their commitment to work in Chiapas. Hebron USA is looking for people who would like to join this team.

The group will arrive on Saturday, July 12 by flight into Tuxtla Gutierrez and then travel that evening to Ocosingo, Chiapas, México. We will work with Templo Filidelfía, a new partner congregation for Hebron USA, which is located in a neighborhood east of Ocosingo. This is a more urban location than we usually work in. We will be doing site work for the new sanctuary that this congregation will be building. In addition, the group will conduct Bible school for neighborhood children during the afternoons. We expect to sleep and eat at a large house adjacent to the work site. We will worship with the members of this Presbyterian congregation and work side-by-side with them. The work will be light construction.

At the end of the week, we will visit the Mayan ruins at Toniná, which are located approximately 10 km. from Ocosingo. On the last Saturday, we relocate to San Cristóbal de Las Casas, a beautiful, small colonial city closer to the airport with abundant shopping and sightseeing opportunities. The group will fly out of Tuxtla Gutierrez on Sunday morning.

If you are interested in joining the Waukegan team on this mission trip, please contact Randy DuVall, president of Hebron USA at 757-672-1797 for further details.
